Arlene T. McCarthy serves as Compliance Officer for Loyola University of New Orleans. Previously she served as a Senior Ethics Specialist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and as Ethics Program Manager for the Foreign Agricultural Service. In 2009, Ms. McCarthy was invited by the White House Counsel’s Office to review public financial disclosure reports and provide ethics advice to presidential nominees and White House staff. Prior to joining USDA, Ms. McCarthy served leaders and policy makers in ethics, general and administrative law at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Office of Government Ethics and the U.S. Department of Education. She also spent three years at the Southern University Law Center and one year at American University’s Washington College of Law teaching first-year law students introductory lawyering skills such as legal reasoning and analysis, writing, research, advocacy and fundamental lawyering values. She is an active member of the District of Columbia Bar and the Louisiana State Bar.
