Take Back the Night

Dear Loyola community,

Tonight, for the 27th consecutive year, Loyola University New Orleans will come together with other local universities in the crusade to end sexual violence. I hope you’ll join me for Take Back the Night, tonight, Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018 at 5:45 p.m. in front of the Marquette Building.

This is an issue near to my heart and at the core of my convictions. I have spent much of my career fighting against rape and domestic violence — as a prosecutor, as a lawyer for advocates, in my own academic work and as a university administrator. What has always kept me going is the courage of survivors and the hope that the world is changing because so many of you have demanded it.

This is a moment when we also proudly join forces with our fellow students, faculty and staff from Dillard, Tulane, Xavier, UNO and Our Lady of Holy Cross College. Come listen to the speakers and the voices of survivors and participate in the candlelight vigil.

I hope to see you there,

Tania Tetlow
President
